At Abrio Living, we understand that researching residential care options can lead to a number of questions.
We are committed to building a trusting partnership with each family we serve and are available and ready to answer any questions you might have. To help with your initial research, we have compiled the following list of frequently asked questions:
What are the steps I or a loved one would take to move into a group home?
Once a home has been chosen, the Support Coordinator will follow up with the member/family to set up a Person-Centered Service Planning Meeting with the provider and the team to discuss the move-in process.
What if I am not currently receiving DDD services?
If you are not currently receiving DDD services, you can contact your local Department of Economic Security/Division of Developmental Disabilities (DES/DDD) office for assistance. The DDD website can help you with questions on eligibility and how to apply for services.
How much does living in a group home cost?
Group home rates vary depending on the needs of the members living in the home. Members pay for Room and Board, which includes groceries for the home, utilities, a vehicle, insurance, and all necessities. Room and Board is typically paid for with a portion of each member’s Supplemental Security Income (SSI/SSA), and DDD or the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) pays for the remaining portion as well as the costs for staffing the home. A portion of the SSI/SSA is used for personal spending money and/or the member’s personal bills.
Do you have openings in any of your group homes?
Please contact us for more information and we can give you an update on current availability.
Do you have behavioral homes?
Abrio Living can care for members with behavioral needs. Each member’s needs are evaluated separately to determine if they are a good fit for the home with availability.
Do you have homes for people with Serious Mental Illness (SMI)?
Abrio Living does not provide services for people with only a SMI diagnosis. However, we do provide services for people who have both SMI and DDD diagnoses.
Do you have homes for the elderly?
Abrio Living does not have homes for older adults without a DDD diagnosis. However, through our sister company, Abrio Home Care, we provide services to older adults in their own homes to help them live independently.
